Foundational Givens for working in Genuine Contact

When we work with leaders, we ask them to identify their givens or non-negotiables for their work. Creating clear boundaries and maintaining these boundaries is an essential competency for principled leadership. We took ourselves through the same rigorous process that we take our clients through, resulting in the following givens.

  1. Our work is not values neutral. It is values led by our five beliefs.
  2. We use our five strategies, uniquely customized to the business and development goals of our clients.
  3. We provide our clients with a six point checklist to determine alignment between the client and ourselves.
  4. We work only with extraordinary leaders and those aspiring to be extraordinary leaders.
  5. We work on our development as individuals and as a team to have the capacity to provide exemplary service.
  6. When our clients have large projects requiring a bigger and even international team of consultants, meeting facilitators, and coaches, we develop our larger teams from our larger professional community who have been trained by us in the Genuine Contact program.
  7. We adhere to the quality standard set out by our community of Genuine Contact professionals.
  8. We donate at least 10% of our income to scholarships and sponsorships for people of low income to be able to participate in learning with us.
  9. We participate actively in the Genuine Contact Co-owners Group, Inc and professional community, a social enterprise dedicated to increasing the number of healthy and balanced organizations in the world, in which the people within these organizations thrive, the organizations thrive, and tangible results are produced.
  10. In all consulting assignments, we teach for the purpose of creating maximum skill, knowledge, and capacity building inside the organization so that the need for external consultant involvement is kept to a minimum over time.
