For the past 9 years, Dalar International Consultancy has been sponsoring an annual mentoring circle for all authorized GC Trainers and then a second mentoring circle immediately following for those interested in the Genuine Contact program and approach. This year, marking the 10th anniversary of the Train the Trainer program, we are pleased to offer an all new mentoring circle format that we hope will assisst in continuing to foster community within those working with Genuine Contact.
This year, we are combining the GC Trainers mentoring circle with the Genuine Contact mentoring circle. We invite all authorized GC Trainers and anyone else who is interested in working with the Genuine Contact program and approach to participate in this exciting 5-day program.
The new format for this mentoring circle will include teaching components by Birgitt Williams and Ward Williams as well as the opportunity to mentor each other through collective learning opportunities and an Open Space Technology meeting. There will also be an opportunity for proposal development and decision making. All mentoring circle participants will be able to participate in the decision making with the final vote being cast by all Co-Owners present.
The overview of the event includes:
September 25th
1:00pm gathering for context setting at the home of Birgitt and Ward. Context setting will include a Transfer In, Hopes and Fears, a history of the Genuine Contact Organization known as the Genuine Contact professional’s community, and a closing circle at the Harmony Circle. We anticipate that the celebration of our tenth anniversary of GC trainers will take place in the evening with supper and dancing.
September 26th
9:00am-5:00pm Focus is on exploring the purpose, values, and assumptions including mapping the accomplishments and struggles
September 27th
9:00am-5:00pm Focus is on understanding a liberating structure and a participatory architecture, lessons learned, and possible proposal development.
September 28th
9:00am-5:00pm OST meeting to explore any issues and opportunities regarding the Genuine Contact program that people want to explore.
September 29th
9:00am-5:00pm Proposal development and five to fold voting process for any proposals to be considered at the meeting.
September 30th
9:00am-1:00pm Closing circle and farewell lunch
The first day of the mentoring circle will be held on the farm on Blair Cee Lane in Raleigh, North Carolina. The remaining days may be moved to a conference facility in the Raleigh/Durham area. Location details will follow shortly.
