Eiwor Backelund of GC Tools values being a Co-Operation Partner of Dalar International Consultancy because of the shared learning and heightened competency that comes from moving into new challenges together. Our partnership, that started more than 20 years ago, has over the years provided our clients with a wealth of experience. Through the collaboration with Dalar and its Co-Operation Partners, the Genuine Contact Program has developed to the comprehensive and transformative approach for organizational development that it is today. When we put together our long story of proven experience from using the Genuine Contact approach in leadership positions, this has added to the evidence-based foundation, which has made the approach even more valuable for leaders around the world.
I have worked with the Genuine Contact approach since 2001, when I graduated as an authorized Genuine Contact Trainer. I have found that when I use the Genuine Contact approach as a leader, I am never alone. The approach provides the conditions needed to bring people together for a common purpose. At the same time, it creates the healthy climate needed for organizational success.
My main area of interest is to mentor leaders to create and maintain a culture where people can be engaged and empowered to take their own leadership. This mentoring is provided by role modelling and in dialogues, workshops and my books. My co-operation with Dalar continues with, among other things, the exploration of how to maintain and use elders’ wisdom to support the ongoing development of an organization. As a leader, I know it is necessary to use the wisdom of everyone, old and young, to build a healthy and successful organization.
