Birgitt Williams is an organizational development consultant, leadership consultant, and co-founder of the Genuine Contact Way of Working – a holistic approach to organizational transformation now practiced on six continents. As Founder of Dalar International Consultancy and a Steward of the international Genuine Contact Organization, Birgitt has spent more than thirty years creating the conditions for life-nourishing organizations where both people and performance thrive.

Birgitt co-created the Genuine Contact Way of Working – a holistic approach to organizational transformation that honors organizations as living systems and people as holders of wisdom. This methodology is recognized in “The Change Handbook” as a credible change approach and has been taught on six continents in more than twenty countries since the mid-1990s. As a Steward and Co-owner of the International Genuine Contact Organization, Birgitt continues to guide a global community of consultants, coaches, leaders, and facilitators committed to creating life-nourishing organizations.

Birgitt’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that individuals and organizations inherently possess the blueprint for their optimal health. This insight emerged early in her professional journey when she worked in a child welfare agency and witnessed how systemic barriers affected family success. Recognizing the need for systemic change rather than isolated interventions, she shifted her focus to organizational consulting – helping leaders create the conditions where both people and organizations can flourish.

As a mother, stepmother, and grandmother, Birgitt’s work is guided by a question: what kind of world are we creating for future generations? This commitment to life-nurturing rather than life-depleting systems informs everything she does – from how she works with organizational leaders to her role co-creating the Genuine Contact Way of Working. She brings the same courage to organizational transformation that it takes to shift family patterns: the willingness to do the internal work first, trusting that external change follows.

At thirty-one, Birgitt became the CEO of a multi-service social and health service organization – a role where she applied and refined her developing understanding of leadership, organizational development, and transformation. Her extensive preparation included postgraduate studies in Clinical Behavioral Sciences, large group interventions, critical mass theory for organizations, storytelling, and various healing arts modalities – all of which inform the holistic, integrative approach that became the Genuine Contact Way of Working.

Birgitt’s organizational development work integrates four key areas: developing leadership capacity at every level by creating conditions where leadership becomes something everyone does; designing and facilitating participatory processes where collective intelligence emerges naturally; building organizational resilience across six interconnected cultural dimensions (strategy, leadership, accountability, well-being, development, and service); and coaching leaders to align with their genuine selves and lead with renewed clarity and purpose. Her approach honors the wisdom already present in organizations and builds on strengths rather than focusing on deficits.

As Founder of Dalar International Consultancy, Birgitt continues to work with purpose-driven organizations globally – from social enterprises and NGOs to corporations seeking to create regenerative cultures. Her consulting work spans organizational transformation, leadership development, strategic planning, and building organizational capacity that sustains long after engagements end.

Beyond her consulting work, Birgitt has served on numerous Boards of Directors, volunteered in the social service sector, and remains active in the international Genuine Contact Organization as a Steward, Co-owner, and member of the group of Elders.

Birgitt authored “The Genuine Contact Way: Nourishing a Culture of Leadership,” the foundational text for this approach to organizational transformation, and has contributed articles and book chapters on organizational change, leadership development, and systemic thinking to numerous publications.

Birgitt’s work is guided by a commitment to future generations – to creating life-nourishing rather than life-depleting organizations and to being the change she wants to see in the world. Through consulting, writing, and teaching, she continues to create conditions where leaders can access the courage needed for genuine transformation.
